The purpose of the test measurement is to demonstrate the operation of the whole EVAROOF system under real-life industrial conditions. This is part of a Metabuilding grant for the creation of EVAROOF. The participants in the project are:
- Öntözés.hu Kft. (the owner of the WaterFilm Technology patent) - installation and operation of the roof cooling system
- Owners Partners S.L. - design and manufacture of the monitoring system hardware components
- Building Construction Design Kft. - design, implementaion and operationof the online platform for the storage evaluation and presentation of the measurement data.
- ÉMI Non-Profit Limited Liability Company for Quality Control and Innovation in Building - supporting partner in the demonstration by granting access to one of their building in their compound in Szentendre, Hungary.
The schedule of the project:
- Grant agreement signature: September 2022
- Installation of the roof cooling system: October 2022
- Design, manufacture and installation of the measurement hardware gyártása, telepítése: October-December 2022
- Test period with continuous measurements: December-February 2022
The roof cooling system installed by Öntözés.hu covers the whole roof of the small test building (provided by ÉMI). It has all the relevant functionality and controls of a regular large-scale installation that is needed to demonstrate the operation of the whole Evaroof system.
The monitoring system:
The monitoring system consist of several measurement modules and a few central data rely components. The sensors placed above the roof make use of a flexible support pole used to freely adjust the height of the individual measurement positions to capture the temperature and humidity stratification effects above the roof.
The internal temperature sensors are placed on a wire strung between the roof and the floor of the building to capture the internal temperature stratification. The individual sub-modules communicate over an RS485 bus with their respective control modules.
A high thermal conductivity aluminum plate is attached to the bottom of the corrugated metal roof slab to serve as a basis for the heatflux sensor which can directly measure the actual heat flow through the roof.
All monitoring system modules relay their data through an internet connection.
